Oh, were goin' to the zoo...

August, 2011

So I know I am out of order, but that's what happens when you wait a year to catch up.

One of the fun things about Utah was the Zoo.  We decided to have one last hurrah before we moved.  We drug Kimber and Chris and Shonna along with us.  It was a fun day.

The day we went just happened to be take your "pet" to the zoo day.  So the kids brought their favorite stuffed animal with them.

They had booths set up where their vets would take care of your "pet" for you.  They gave them a checkup and gave the kids a certificate of good health.  The kids thought it was fun.

As I have been going through my pictures I have almost started crying a couple of times.  Dax has grown up so fast!  Hes turning into a little boy and leaving the toddler stages.  There are definitely benefits to him getting bigger, but its still sad to see how fast it really goes by.
Huge rhino statue = perfect photo opportunity!

I love this picture of Dax and Kimber, its so sweet.
I think one of our favorite things about the zoo is the carousel. Sadly just watching them ride makes me sick to my stomach.  Luckily Kyle and Kimber have stomachs of steal, (when it comes to spinning!)

It was a really fun day.

Birthdays!!!

So I am still catching up, obviously, I am not quite a full year behind but pretty close.  I hope to be up to date in the next couple of days.  Once July hits we start our birthday marathon. We have one birthday a month every month from July to December, minus September.  Once the new baby is born though we will have every month covered.  Kyle is in July, but for some reason I can find any of my pictures... frustrating.  We did celebrate it though...:)
Then in August Bailey turned 5!!!!
Its amazing to me how time just seems to fly by...
We were able to celebrate with a few of our cousins.
Bailey always told me, "mom I really want to buy "that" but I am saving all my money for college!" Which is really cute, I thought alright we are on the right track! Lately though she has been saing, " I am saving all my money for a phone."  How her priorities have changed...
Sophie wanted to have a little party with her friends before we moved from Saratoga to Pioche.  I think it was the day before we loaded everthing up on the truck that we had this little party.

We had such fun with our little neighbors and with our cousins.  We still miss all the time we got to spend together.
 She still loves this horse!
This is what the house looked like, yea I really dont like moving!

Well then we made our official move to Pioche, it was late October.  Shortly after I had my birthday... my 30th birthday that is.  I still cant believe my twenties are gone, where did they go? I have come to terms with it though, now that I am almost, dare I say, 31!! The sad thing is, Kyle is still 29, for 20 some odd more days, what a young pup!
Kyle and the kids made me this beautiful cake!

I had to put this picture in. Notice Sophie, shes coloring on the table.  Moving to Pioche sparked some kind of notty phase with her and there has been nothing but cleaning up messes ever since.  I (nock on wood) think it is coming to an end though.
this isnt the best picture but this is the only one with Kyle in it.  He was the one with the camera.

Then my cute little Sophie officailly turned 3 years old in November!

She is so much fun and she keeps us on our toes.  Yesterday at church they had just said the sacrament prayer and Kyle still had his head down and eyes closed and she leaned over to him and said, "Dad they said amen, you can open your eyes now."  Now picture that in a sassy little three year old voice.  I felt like saying yea, dah! It was funny.

Then in December my Daxton turned 2.

He is such a ham!!

This cake was my atempt at being creative.  It turned out cute and the kids liked it.  (Baking has never really been my thing.)

We had a fun little party with the family!

wow it's been a while!

so I had every intention to stay up to date but about the time I stopped blogging was about the time life threw us a curve ball. we were having such a great summer, loving our new house, loving the area we were in, and loving being so close to friends and family.... It was perfect! Then Kyle got an unexpected job offer that would take us back home! As you can imagine it was a hard decision, that took us a while to make. There were so many pros and cons to both choices, staying or moving. Well after agonizing over the decision for what felt like forever we finally decided to take the job and make the move. That made move #4 in two years (every 6 six months since Dax was 2weeks old). Needless to say I hate moving, although I did get rid of a bunch of junk...somehow though we still had plenty of junk to move. So we are now living in Pioche Nevada. I have decided the only thing predictable about life is that it is completely unpredictable! We have moved one more time since we moved to pioche, making it move #5 in 2 1/2 years!!! I'd like to say we are done moving but we want to build a home to grow old in so we will probably have one more move before we are done, although we have a few years for that to happen. Once I fell behind in blogging it just felt too overwhelming, I didn't know where to start. However Kyle informed me the other day that I am officially in charge of the family journal. Honestly keeping a journal has never been my stronge point. I ended up printing our blog to book. And my kids love to look at it and read stories. It's surprising how much happened that I had already forgotten. Long story short I guess this is as close to a family journal as we are going to get so I am going to try to catch back up and keep it updated! Try being the key word! We have had a lot going on, so for the next little bit I will be playing catch up so don't be surprised if I am blogging about things that happened 10+ months ago! Anyways wish me luck!

a duck tape boat & the house

So Kyle is back in boys scouts and the other day he made a duck tape boat.

Rich and Jess were out and they didn't think it would float so we took it out for a test run and it totally works.
